Susan’s career in dentistry began as a dental assistant over thirty years ago. As a dental assistant, she’s worked in oral surgery and pediatric practices as well as general dentistry.

Through the years, she advanced her career by obtaining a BA in Organizational Management from Warner Southern University and completing a MS Program in Administration and Leadership from Nova South Eastern University.

For many years, Susan served as the Coordinator of the Dental Assisting Program at the Traviss Career Center in Lakeland, FL. In addition to teaching in all areas of dental assisting, she also teaches written and oral communication skills, psychology, customer service skills, employability skills, and computer skills to dental assisting students. <Read More>

Susan has been highly active within the profession of dental assisting on a local, state, and national level. Committees and offices that she has held include Trustee, Secretary and Vice President for the American Dental Assistants Association.

She takes great pride in encouraging and sponsoring student participation in table clinic and SkillsUSA competitions. DCI also shares Susan’s passion for student participation as we engage learners throughout their coursework and membership.
